Topture's appearances in the media take three forms: quotations from Benny Rehwald, Topture's founder, in articles on other subjects; reports of rankings of U.S. states produced by Topture; and press releases issued by the company. This page lists each kind separately.

Expert commentary[edit]

Forbes Vetted's buying guide to home saunas lists Rehwald among the experts it consulted, describing Rehwald as “a sauna therapy expert and the founder and CEO of Topture”. The guide quotes Rehwald on choosing a sauna, including heating type, which Rehwald called the “most critical” factor, as well as layout, the electromagnetic-field ratings of infrared models, and safety features.[1]

In April 2025 several entertainment and lifestyle outlets published comments from Rehwald on sauna use, after the singer Jelly Roll credited saunas with a role in a weight loss of about 200 pounds. HELLO! quoted Rehwald as “a sauna specialist and founder at Topture”.[2] The Blast published comments from “an email sent to The Blast”.[3] Wide Open Country, which said Rehwald had contacted the outlet, noted that Rehwald “is a sauna specialist, not a health expert” and, as Topture's founder, “has a vested interest in sharing an encouraging view of saunas”.[4]

Research cited by publications[edit]

Topture has produced rankings of U.S. states that were reported by news and lifestyle outlets. Its 2025 ranking of states by stress compared all 50 states on 31 weighted metrics in five categories: work, finances, family, health and safety, and work–life balance. It ranked Louisiana as the most stressed state.[5] Digital Journal listed the public data sources used, including the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.[6] The ranking was also reported by Mental Floss and New Jersey 101.5, and in the Forbes contributor network.[5][7][8]

A second 2025 analysis, of 7.3 million wellness-related Google searches normalized by state population, ranked Alaska first for interest in self-care; it was reported by a Forbes contributor.[9] A Topture ranking of states by happiness, based on 21 factors, was reported by Florida Politics, which described Topture as “a sauna manufacturing company”;[10] Topture is a retailer and states that it does not manufacture products.[11] An earlier, 2024 edition of the stress ranking was published under Rehwald's own byline on The Good Men Project.[12]

Press releases[edit]

In July 2025 Topture distributed a press release through PR Newswire describing itself as a top-rated online sauna store.[13] Copies syndicated to Yahoo Finance were labelled as a paid press release.[14] Press releases are the company's own statements and are listed here separately from coverage.
